In the past year, Parkhurst installed its first self-service c-store, the PNC 500 Market, in the PNC Building in Pittsburgh. It offers a mix of fresh grab-and-go foods along with various packaged snacks, beverages and non-food sundries in a small (600-700-sq.ft.) footprint that is unmanned except at peak hours.
Parkhurst has also opened a number of new venues in its site operations, such as the Red Ring Bar & Grille at Duquesne University, Iggy’s Market at Loyola University-Baltimore and the Yorktown Café at Robert Morris University . One new multi-site concept is Build-a-Burger, which gives diners customized half-pound burgers with a choice of fresh, local, sustainable ingredients.
In partnership with other units of parent company Eat'n Park, Parkhurst is engaging in a new talent management program that allows employees to advance their careers across the different divisions.
