There are many holiday traditions Parkhurst loves to be part of (usually involving food!), and one of them is Caring for Kids. Every year, our company engages in the five-week Caring for Kids fundraising campaign to benefit children’s hospitals across our 14-state footprint. Now in its 45th year, Caring for Kids has raised nearly $12 million and supported more than a dozen children’s hospitals.
One of the coolest parts of the campaign is that each Parkhurst site fundraises in its own unique way! Over the course of the campaign, which runs annually from early November into December, Parkhurst team members and guests host raffles, hot cocoa stands, bingo nights, dress-down days, virtual 5ks, and celebratory happy hours, all to raise money for area children and their families. Every year, it warms our hearts to see everyone come together for such a great cause.

Duquesne Dining raised money by selling Caring for Kids shirts!
Heidelberg Dining sold holiday baskets, each one including a personalized holiday card, hot chocolate, chocolate-covered pretzel, holiday cookie, snowman marshmallows, and candy sticks.
We always think of our team members as rock stars, but Lake Forest College took it a step further and had a Back to the ’80s fundraiser!
A pie to the face is all in good fun to raise money at Centre College!
Mercyhurst Dining put on a turkey hunt!
The Bucknell University team had a Dress Down Day and was able to raise $200 to donate to Toys for Tots!
So, if you see Parkhurst sites putting on some fun fundraisers over the next several weeks, it’s just our team members supporting Caring for Kids, with this year’s campaign running from Wednesday, November 1 through Saturday, December 9. Stay tuned to our social channels for campaign updates, including our grand fundraising total at the end of the campaign. Follow Parkhurst on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Instagram!
