At the intersection of Parkhurst Dining’s passion for people and food is hospitality. We are always looking for ways to extend support to our neighbors!
As our final entry in our November “Thankful” series, we’re highlighting one of our longest-standing partnerships that represents this junction between people and food: the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank.
Parkhurst Dining and the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank
Parkhurst Dining is part of Eat’n Park Hospitality Group, a company with a history dating back to 1949. For nearly 40 years, ENPHG has partnered with the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank to help alleviate food insecurity and increase food equity and access in our communities. This partnership started in Pittsburgh and today continues to be a significant part of our community efforts across our footprint.
“The greatest strength of our region really is our people – people who are willing to come together, to roll up our sleeves, and do good meaningful work to move the community forward,” says Trina DeMarco, Director of Corporate Giving & Community Partnerships at Eat’n Park Hospitality Group.

Each year, ENPHG makes a monetary donation to the food bank in every community where we do business across 14 states. This year, in honor of our 75th anniversary, we made an additional $75,000 gift to support the food bank’s Advanced Choice Program, helping to ensure that our neighbors have access to produce when they need it.
“The power of partnerships can change a community and change lives,” says DeMarco. “We are delighted to play even a small role in making these partnerships stronger and alleviating food insecurity.”
More Than a Monetary Partnership
But it’s not just monetary donations. Every year, Parkhurst team members volunteer at the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank. This year, volunteers split up to tackle two projects: One group sorted and packed 1,001 boxes of food for seniors and families in need; the other stocked The Market, the on-site grocery store, and helped 92 families shop for and select the fresh grocery items they wanted at no cost to them.
“The Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank never stops innovating in service of our community and in the ways they reach people, empower people, and increase equity through food,” says DeMarco. “We couldn’t be more thrilled to support their efforts.”
